Furnace Types

Generally, there are two types of roasters: straight - cylinder roasters and roasters with an enlarged upper part.

1. Straight - cylinder roasters: Mostly used for roasting non - ferrous metal concentrates.
2. Roasters with an enlarged upper part: Early on, they were used for crushing ore lumps (as raw materials for sulfuric acid production). The roasted sulfur ore is mostly in a blocky shape, so it is also known as a block - shaped roasting furnace. Later, it was developed for various types of floatation ores (including non - ferrous metal floatation concentrates and associated sulfur ores produced during ore dressing), as well as for roasting sulfur - rich concentrates obtained through floatation to improve the grade of sulfur - rich ores. These ores have a relatively small particle size.

Advantages of Boiling Roasters

1. High production intensity. Due to the close contact between the air and the materials in the furnace, and the relatively intense relative movement between the gas flow and the materials, the reaction is rapid.
2. High heat transfer efficiency. The materials boil violently in the furnace. Coupled with the effect of air, the isolation between material particles is broken, and the specific surface area increases. The contact surface per cubic meter can reach 3280 - 49200 m².
3. Suitable for a wide range of raw materials, especially for the rapid roasting of fine - grained materials.
